Energy Bill Passes the House!
The U.S. House of Representives has passed an energy bill including a meaningful increase in fuel efficiency standards to 35 miles per gallon by 2020. Read the Pew Campaign's statement.

Historic Fuel Efficiency Compromise Reached

Poll Shows Support for Strong Fuel Efficiency Standards Seen as Vital to National Security
The Pew Campaign for Fuel Efficiency held a press briefing on November 9th to discuss the findings of a new nationwide poll on national security, energy security and the energy legislation under consideration by Congress, which comes as the House and Senate continue to negotiate a final version of energy legislation. State Polls Show Strong Support for Fuel Economy Standards
On July 23, the Pew Campaign for Fuel Efficiency released new bipartisan polling in Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida and Michigan that pulled from more than 30 congressional districts. The surveys found overwhelming voter support for the U.S. House of Representatives to pass legislation increasing automobile fuel efficiency standards at least as strong as those passed by the U.S. Senate in June.
